Ask the Expert: MPL Participates in Libraries Transform Campaign
If you visit the Marshall Public Library, you’ll see staff wearing their interests on their figurative sleeves.
Over the next several months, library employees will be wearing a badge adorned with the phrase “I’m an expert in” followed by the topic the staff member is particularly savvy in.
“A quick survey of staff recently found that we had experts in everything from dogs to Idaho history, Corningware, Agatha Christie, and plant-based eating,” said Marshall Public Library Director Eric Suess. “Our employees are often knowledgeable in many areas and the great thing about the badges is they allow staff to change it when they want to.”
The effort is part of the Marshall Public Library’s participation in the Libraries Transform campaign. Spearheaded by the American Library Association, the initiative aims to “increase public awareness of the value, impact and services provided by libraries and library professionals.”
“The people who work at the library are truly its most valuable resource,” said Suess. “I’m very proud of the employees at the Marshall Public Library and the knowledge and insight they provide to residents in our community.”
