Public Art In Pocatello Chubbuck Idaho
Public art in Pocatello Chubbuck Idaho is meant to create beauty, draw attention, encourage collaboration and unity in a project, etc… It is not meant to create destruction and encourage dull mentalities. The public art piece standing outside the Old Town Pocatello Inc. building has been damaged twice, by vehicles intentionally running into it, and according to our Facebook post, the public is pissed!
We Must Take A Stand
As My Local Pocatello continues to grow, we’ve determined we need to be a louder voice for what we truly love and care about in this precious community we call home. We need to be a source of support for all that is good here in Pocatello Chubbuck Idaho, but also a source of standard, a platform that celebrates the positive and is willing to call out the negative. We can no longer sit back and watch our community dissolve into naysayers, no-doers and negative nellies. We must take a stand and speak out against BS, and we must continue to work together to build our community as a collective bunch rather than allow it to divide and dissolve into a cesspool of uncaring, non-committed, destructive, damaged beings.
Please Become Involved In Your Community
We are calling for your help. You don’t have to do much, but we do ask for this: Please become involved in a committee, a board, a vote. We’ve got elections coming up, and early voting is already open. Please, in order for your opinion to count, participate! If you don’t like something within our community, find out how you can help change it, or how you can help improve it.
We Love Public Art
We love public art and are big proponents of it. We’ve already begun a crusade of sorts to encourage public art at the North Gate Interchange. We’ve become vocal as individuals and as a collective, because it is something we have passion for. Find your passion and use it to improve our community! Band together, join forces, attend meetings, vote. You are much more effective together than you are apart.
The damage to the public art in Old Town Pocatello is deplorable. Some people might say it’s not that big of a deal. Well, as this is the second time it has been intentionally damaged, we say it’s a VERY BIG DEAL! And it’s something we won’t tolerate.
Fundraising Has Started For Old Town Pocatello Public Art
We have been in contact with Old Town Pocatello, and have permission to begin fundraising efforts for at least meeting the $1000.00 insurance deductable & reinstallation with better damage control! If you’re able to help, please follow this link to contribute to a Gofundme page already set up by Old Town (This had been set up previously for Relight the Night, but with a note explaining that your donation is for the public art it will go to the right place):
When you make your donation, please add a note that it is for the public art. Then it will become a dedicated fund specific to correct this damage. We will post more information early this afternoon. Please share this post/information with your friends. Let’s show our support for this community and show that these moments will NOT dampen our enthusiasm for art or Pocatello Chubbuck Idaho! We’re all in this together. If you have questions, please call Rory at 208-220-2346 or email us at email@example.com.
